Bio | After a successful career in the Civil Service where, for 11 years she was programme director for women’s development, Margaret became self-employed in 2005 and, with a colleague, she set up VMG Associates, a learning and development organisation which still continues. It soon became apparent that there was also a need to work with organisations in order to help them manage and motivate their multi-generational workforces. Statistics published in 2015 revealed that, in the UK, we have an overall gender pay gap of 19.1% and that a woman, on average, earns around 80p for every £1 earned by a man and since the 2016 referendum vote for the UK to leave the EU, there has been an increase in racist incidents. With all this in mind, Margaret with a colleague has developed The Opportunity Group with its four pillars being 50 Plus, For Women, Multi-Generation and Multi-Culture. http://www.theopportunitygroup.com Margaret especially likes to work with people when they are starting up their businesses and formulating their ideas. She specialises in supporting women and those over 50 to help them achieve their aspirations. |
